Coumarin-Derived Fluorescent Chemosensors
Fluorescent chemosensors are highly valuable in a variety of fields including environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, and bio-medicinal science. They have provided accurate, on-line, and low-cost detection of toxic heavy metal ions, anions, and enzymes with high selectivity and sensitivity. Coumarins, with the structure of benzopyrone, have many advantages including high fluorescence qua...
متن کاملPharmacogenetics-based coumarin therapy.
To reduce the risk of hemorrhage, experts advocate prescribing the anticipated therapeutic dose to patients who are beginning coumarin therapy, but until now there was no accurate way to estimate that dose. Using pharmacogenetics-based coumarin therapy, clinicians can now estimate the therapeutic dose by genotyping their patients for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that affect coumarin m...
متن کامل3-(Pyridin-2-yl)coumarin
In the title compound, C(14)H(9)NO(2), the dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the lactone ring is 10.40 (3)°. The coumarin ring system is nearly planar, with a dihedral angle of 1.40 (2)° between the lactone and benzene rings. An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of C-H⋯O inter-actions occur, generating R(2) (2)(14) loops.
متن کاملCoumarin: Chemical and Pharmacological Profile
Coumarins are classified as a member of the benzopyrone family. all of which consist of a benzene ring joined to a pyrone ring. The benzopyrones can be subdivided into the benzoalfa-pyrones to which the coumarins belong and the benzo-gama-pyrones, of which the flavonoids are principal members. Umbelliferone, esculetin and scopoletin are the most widespread coumarins in nature. During the synthe...
